It has been reported that the Carolina Panthers released starting running back DeShaun Foster, a move that clears salary-cap space and opens the door for DeAngelo Williams to become the team’s featured back.

Sen. Arlen Specter says Pats coach Bill Belichick has been taping opponents signals since 2000. After meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter remained critical of the league’s handling of the New England Patriots videotaping case and said Goodell’s explanation of why the tapes were destroyed was “completely invalid.”
Miami Dolphins released seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Zach Thomas. Thomas missed most of last season because of concussions and migraines and was placed on injured reserve in December because of nagging migraines, an aftereffect of an Oct. 21 car crash.
Marty Booker was one of nine players cut by the Dolphins.
Booker had 50 catches for 556 yards, but only one touchdown for the 1-15 Dolphins in 2007, and he did not have a 100-yard game.
It has been reported that U.S. Senator Arlen Specter will encourage NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to offer legal protection to former Patriots’ employee, video assistant Matt Walsh, in hopes of discovering new evidence regarding New England’s videotaping practices.
